Short description of project
After having collected successful experiences working together in pure technical areas, consortium partners decided to extend their scope to an interdisciplinary knowledge exchange between universities, on one hand, and between universities and industry, on the other. Sustainability in the engineering field plays more and more an important role in both teaching and research activities in universities. However, the process in the industry is at least one step forward. One of the main targets of the project is to learn from the knowledge and the experience of the industry in order to intensify the efforts in the academic field. The results of the SUSCOMTEC project might foster the implementation of sustainability issues in the teaching programmes (teaching, bachelor and master thesis).
Short description of the task performed by Croatian partner
University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing professors, as well as students, work together with professors and students from other consortium partners on the selected topics from the field of engineering for a sustainable global ICT community. Once in a year they meet during an intensive 14-day workshop, while the remainder of the year they collaborate electronically using ICT-based platforms.
