The objective of the project is to analyze experiences with EU law application in V4 countries and share this know-how with V4 neighbouring countries that are in the process of EU approximation. The core of project will be the creation of EU law research network of the Faculties of Law in Visegrad countries, namely in Olomouc, Trnava, Katowice and Budapest; and Zagreb as a representative from outside V4. This project profile was chosen with respect to the existing bilateral cooperation among these Universities. The research will focus on the following areas of EU law implementation in V4 countries: - national constitutional law and its adaptation to EU legal order; EU law implementation and legislative procedures - national public and private law and its interaction with EU law within V4 (esp. environmental law, labour and social security law, criminal law, competition and public procurement law) - EU law enforcement by national courts and by European Court of Justice in relation to V4 countries. The research teams will create national reports for each topic that will cover both the pre- and post-accession developments. They will present them on conferences organised by V4 partners; the research papers will be published in English. Except V4 researchers, the partners from outside the V4 will also participate in the conferences and their country specific problems will be discussed. The conference proceedings in English will be distributed to relevant institutions of the V4 neighbouring region countries (universities, state authorities, legal profession organisations). The project information will also be widely accessible through the project website. Lastly, the project will foster existing links among partners so that the cooperation may continue after the end of the project.
