Short description of project
In 2006/07 we achieved similar goals like in 2005/06: Strengthening of the network; Fairly intense mobility for both, students and faculty; Gathering further operational experience how CEEPUS II works, at a “host” and “home” side. A very special achievement to us was a project that emerged from our CEEGIS network involving 4 network members: the Centre of Geoinformatics (ZGIS, www.zgis.at) at Salzburg University submitted a proposal for curriculum development under TEMPUS III Joint European Project (JEP) 2006 together with Jagiellonian University in Cracow and Faculty of Geodesy at the University of Zagreb, and two individual experts Jim Petch (University of Manchester)and Bela Markus (University of West Hungary). We were successful: the project called “Geographic Information Science and Technology in Croatian Higher Education” (GIST-CroHE) is awarded a grant of €268.771.-; it has started on 1 September 2007 and will take 2 years to complete. Faculty of Geodesy at the University of Zagreb is the beneficiary of this project. The Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports sees this project as the most significant effort in substantiating cooperation between the Croatia and the EU partners Austria and Poland at HE level, and at the later stage at research level.
Short description of the task performed by Croatian partner
