The project aims at the better recognition of a past Adria plate motions with respect to Pangea, and its major components originated after the Jurassic break-up, particularly Gondwana to the South and Eurasia to the North . This aspect of geological history of the Adria plate, which forms a substantial part of the Chroatian territory, is largely unknown, what makes a serious problem for modeling of the geologic evolution of the country. To solve this problem we propose to use paleomagnetic method that is the only tool for quantitative recognition of the crustal plate motion in the past. The project will rely on a close cooperation between two complementary teams of Poland and Croatia, the former responsible for palaeomagnetic experiments and interpretation, while the later will provide geological information.
